About Me

So I am a late 20 something girl that is working on starting her life over in the bay area (northern California). I have recently found that painting a piece of furniture and giving it new life can be a truly cathartic experience! I love designing spaces and I am currently renting a small 2 bedroom, 1 bath house that was built in the 1920’s, that I share with my four animals: my kitties Buddy & Princess and puppies Bowser & Bunny. This gives me plenty of “spaces” (I say that in quotations as the house is less than 1000 sq feet) to design, and try and figure out what I like.

My background is more in layout and graphic design, and while going to school (I graduated with a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley a couple of years ago), I had a small design studio where I specialized in designing wedding invitation suites to help support myself; however, once I started working a real “big girl job” to pay the bills and my marriage went south, I found keeping up with client demands was pretty tough. And let me tell you, there is nothing more stressful then working with well-off, very particular brides. Now I have been in their shoes and I understand their stress, but it just got to be too much to deal with and so I have pretty much just focused on designing invitations for myself and friends ever since. And let me tell you, having a big-girl job (I work in finance) that pays the bills instead of always relying on customer referrals to keep you job going is quite the stress reliever!

I have four animals that keep me company and one in particular, my little Bunny Bear, who is more like a child to me then a pet! I have started this blog to document my journey of transforming my life and the spaces that I live that new life in! Thanks for reading.
